Nick Nicolau is a born entrepreneur with a thirst for knowledge.
After completing a BCom Accounting in 1978, Nick, together with his then partner Oresti Patricious started Ornico, a video production company. While Nick left Ornico in 1982 to join the family business that retailed clothing, Oresti continued running Ornico - which is today one of South Africa's leading independent provider of media information. Using his entrepreneurial skills in the clothing industry, Nick was instrumental in growing the family business from 6 to 30 stores in 8 years.
In 1991, Nick purchased and successfully ran two Spar supermarkets. He later sold them when he ventured into the restaurant industry.
1996 brought new challenges for Nick. He joined the Ocean Basket when the group only had two stores. During his time with Ocean Basket, Nick was involved in planning and implementing a growth strategy that saw the group grow to over 40 stores in 5 years.
With a passion for food, Nick acquired the rights to Global Wrapps in 2002. During this time, he has grown the brand from 2 to 13 stores on a national basis.
Wrapping it up, Nick envisages a smooth sailing and extremely healthy future.
